To eat or not to? that is the question while vacaying

Vacations are a great escapade from the monotonous routine, they revitalize you and bring a fresh energy in you. The only side effect of a vacation is holiday weight that you carry along for an entire year. But, you don’t have to worry about it too much if you know what to eat and in what amount. To help you with this, we have little tips on foods you should eat and avoid.

  • Prefer eating at a dhaba

It is always better to eat a dhaba rather than a fancy restaurant because dhabas function 24x7 as a result of which they will always serve you fresh food which is not the case with a restaurant. Eating fresh is the key to being healthy.

  • Roasted black chanas to the rescue!

Hunger pangs kicking in mid-night or late evening? Roasted black chanas are the perfect option. Have a handful of them to curb your hunger in a healthy way.

  • Eat chapati instead of naan

Whenever you are ordering food on a vacation, control your desire to eat butter naan and go for tawa chapati instead. Tawa chapati has much lower calories than naan.

  • Paneer snacks

Why go for cheese when you have paneer on the menu? We know cheese is tempting and all and of course you can have a bite of the cheesy dish, but prefer ordering paneer snacks because paneer is high in protein unlike cheese which is high in fat.

  • Fruits

No matter where you go, fruits are your best friends because you can get them anywhere, although the type of fruit might differ according to the region of your vacation spot. Buy fruits from local vendors and eat them up when feeling hungry mid-day because nothing can be healthier than fruits. Right?

  • Choose your drink wisely!

In mood for a drink? Go for lemon water, coconut water or lassi instead of coke, pepsi, sprite etc. aerated drinks are bad for health and have a huge amount of sugar in it which is a cause not only for weight gain but other health problems too.

  • Isabgol

The perfect way to end the day is 2 spoons of isabgol for the digestion process to take place and clean your stomach the next morning. Cheers to a happy tummy!

Obviously, we aren’t saying you cannot cheat, of course a little cheating is allowed. But, remember just a little and not an entire piece of cake. And don’t forget to carry your bottle of water along and keep yourself hydrated.
